My role as Chairman will hopefully see the years ahead for DorchCC! be exciting ones both on and off the field by encouraging good cricket played within excellent surroundings and plan all inclusive social events and these events to include fund raising wherever possible.

The new website is just one of a number of areas of modernization that is happening within the club, without a total rebuild of the pavilion or "bunker" as it it known affectionately not currently on the horizon, the next step was making the building become more hospitable with comfy chairs, newly painted interior and refitted showers etc etc whilst it will never be the picturesque two tier pavilion we would all love to emerge from, it functions well and with a bit of TLC we can continue to improve it in many areas.

The playing surface is a very good one with the square being true and thankfully quick draining during our wet summers! We have spent a lot of time ensuring the outfield matches the playing area by cutting it regularly and rolling it to make a flat, safe and quick scoring surface.

One of the key areas of development for the club is to kick start a new junior section and this is hoped for in 2011, we have a number of young and older coaches who are willing to help out, what we need now though is managers for the age group squads and this is something we will try to get in place during 2010.

So we have a very social club that is focused on replacing all ageing equipment/facilities whilst constantly looking for people who want to play cricket at both league and friendly levels and anyone else who wants to be involved in any role.

We hope the new website is of use to all our members and visitors and will act as a true focal point for the club, and would like to wish you all the best for a fantastic 2010 and thank you all for your enthusiasm and support in keeping the game of Cricket alive and flourishing in Dorch.
